CYBER-ARK CTO NIR GERTNER TO PRESENT AT 2007 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

Recognized Expert on Corporate Security Issues to Discuss Privileged Password Management for Effective Audits and Compliance

Newton, Mass. - April 17, 2007 - Arming auditors with vital information on IT security and compliance, Cyber-Ark® Software today announced that CTO Nir Gertner will present at the annual Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) Information Technology Conference at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort & Casino in Scottsdale, AZ. Mr. Gertner's presentation, titled, " Managing Privileged Passwords: Effectively Preparing for Audits and Compliance," will focus on successful Privileged Password Management (PPM) strategies in today's multi-regulatory environment.

The mismanagement of privileged and administrative passwords is an issue that is being raised more broadly as a result of a growing number of regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Basel II, PCI and HIPPA. While the issue of PPM was first identified two years ago by a handful of SOX 404 auditors, mostly at the largest of financial services institutions, today SOX-driven inquiries on privileged accounts have expanded to organizations of all sizes and types, international organizations and the Fortune 1000 in general.

During Mr. Gertner's session, attendees will learn how to integrate PPM into an overall identity management strategy and ensure protection from both internal and external threats while significantly reducing IT security costs. In addition, attendees will learn:

  • How the risk of internal data misuse can be significantly mitigated by implementing policies and technologies which demand special treatment for privileged passwords;
  • How privileged password management can better meet security policies compliance regulations such as SOX Section 404;
  • Six steps to managing privileged password management and real-world examples of companies that have successfully tackled the security threat of privileged accounts.
