CYBER-ARK SUCCESS CREATES NEW UK CHANNEL DIRECTOR AND CHANGE IN CHANNEL DIRECTION
Demand is booming for Cyber-Ark's Digital Vaulting solutions that secure and manage privileged passwords and other highly-sensitive information. IDC have recently said that "Companies such as Cyber-Ark that offer a Privileged Password Management solution are well-positioned to assist organizations in preventing unwarranted insider attacks" said Sally Hudson, research manager for IDC's Security Services and Identity Management Products program. The constant interest and demand for the products have enabled Cyber-Ark to create the position of UK Channel Director and at the same time change their Channel structure from two tier to single tier.
Paul Barnett the new UK Channel Director said "Although I've only been with Cyber-Ark for under a month, my experience at Unipalm, Checkpoint Software Technologies and Intrusion Inc. have shown that for companies such as Cyber-Ark who are in the earlier stages of growth, a single tier structure works far better than the two tier structure traditionally used by Cyber-Ark. Rather than use a distributor, we can input our expertise to add value and together with the reseller we can go into the customers and build the sort of relationship that is needed in order to make the sizeable sales that occur from the Vaulting products."
Calum Macleod - European Director for Cyber-Ark said "We are delighted that Paul has already made such an impact in such a short time. Many of our customers already know him as do the resellers, and we are already seeing some early traction from the meetings he's having with the banking, financial, insurance and retail industry. The US and European markets have been traditionally where much of the growth has been for Cyber-Ark's products and we now feel that it is time to truly commit to the UK by developing a strong and close-knit reseller network. Paul Barnett is well positioned to drive this new structure forward as he not only has a wealth of business and sales experience but comes well armed with a technical IT Security background as he originally started as a Technical Architect and designed secure internet connections for Demon Consulting."
One of Cyber-Ark's most recent resellers welcomes the new single tier structure introduced by Paul. Steve Browell - General Manager - Technology Business Vistorm said: " Although the product is mature, the market is still maturing. With a specialist product like Cyber-Ark there will always be a relatively small reseller community and always be a need for the vendor to be involved to some degree in opportunities. What you then find is that there is a strong relationship between the reseller and the vendor and that the distributor is left for fulfilment. With a software product this leaves very little value being added by the distributor as stock holding and access to evaluation units is not required. If you then consider that the distributor is not required to build out a wider channel then you are left questioning the value added and hence the margin given away. By operating a 1 tier model it sees Cyber Ark recognising the need to drive the partner relationships directly and to be involved in opportunities. It also, very importantly, makes more margin available to the reseller."
Cyber-Ark® Software have also partnered with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT) to offer Cyber-Ark's products globally. Through the agreement, Wipro will now be reselling Cyber-Ark's Enterprise Password Vault™ (EPV).
Calum Macleod commented "There is great synergy with Wipro's Enterprise Security Solutions as their customers are exactly the market who are currently buying Cyber-Ark's products as they specialize in information security, data privacy, identity and access management, vulnerability management and end point security solutions across industries. The Data Privacy & Encryption Services, a part of the Security Solutions Practice, offers a customer proven solution framework and methodology which enables a comprehensive Data Privacy strategy and solution implementation in a structured manner and can be customized to suit varying client needs. We look forward to Wipro's involvement and look forward to a successful partnership."
